Student Growth

As part of my experience supporting fifth-grade ELA instruction and intervention, I utilized student data to guide instruction, monitor progress, and provide targeted support. During a single nine-week grading period, students demonstrated exceptional growth in reading achievement as measured by i-Ready diagnostics.

Highlights from the data include:
(Click the iReady Results image to see the report.)

📈 92% median progress toward annual typical growth in only one quarter of the school year

📚 Multiple students exceeded 100% of their annual stretch growth goals

🌟 Several students achieved between 160% and 240% of their annual typical growth targets

🎯 Increased student performance across multiple grade-level reading benchmarks

Teaching Philosophy

As an educator, I feel that teaching is both an art and a calling. I believe that education is a lifelong endeavor for students and teachers. In addition to sharing what I have learned, I hope to set an example of perseverance, curiosity, and creativity in my teachings.

My goal as a teacher is to create an environment that is stimulating and engaging for my students. Students in my classroom are encouraged to perceive challenges as opportunities for growth and development. It is my responsibility to acknowledge and develop each student's abilities in a way they are able to flourish.

Continuous professional development is key to furthering my educational practices. To accommodate my students' wide range of requirements, I am always looking for better ways to teach, am careful about how I use technology in the classroom, and regularly evaluate my own performance.  I value collaboration with colleagues, learning communities, and staying informed on educational research to enhance my teaching.

First and foremost, I am committed to fostering a supportive and respectful classroom culture where students feel valued and empowered to take ownership of their learning. I believe that when teachers model a passion for learning, students are inspired to pursue knowledge with curiosity and confidence.

Teaching is a journey, and it is one where I believe that both the teacher and the student grow. I embrace this journey with enthusiasm and dedication, knowing that each day is a new opportunity to learn, inspire,
and make a meaningful impact.
