Phonogram Practice

As part of Naples Classical Academy's partnership with Hillsdale College, I had the opportunity to study and implement the Literacy Essentials program, which emphasizes the critical role of phonics and phonemic awareness in developing strong readers. Recognizing the importance of these foundational skills, I immersed myself in learning the science behind effective reading instruction and the structured literacy practices promoted through the program.

The resources shared here were created to extend that learning beyond the classroom, providing students and families with opportunities to practice essential phonograms, strengthen decoding skills, and build reading confidence at home. My goal has always been to equip families with the knowledge and tools needed to support their child's literacy development, creating a strong partnership between home and school that fosters lifelong learning.
